In memory of the Coke plant, here's a trivia question concerning another bottler that effectively called attention to itself during the heyday of local bottlers: ... .
Q. The Street Rods attract gawkers today, but this vehicle and a sister car were two of the most eye-catching vehicles seen in the county earlier this century.
A. G.E. Plit & Son, holder of the local Nehi beverage franchise, used two bottle-shaped cars for advertising. One was shaped like a bottle of Nehi; the other Chero Cola. The Nehi car was donated for scrap during World War II. The fate of the other car has not been determined.
