Old York County jail on endangered list
The city has listed the old York County jail on Chestnut Street among six endangered historic sites.

The prison - or its older, now-demolished cellblock - served as the location for capital punishment up to 1915 when Pennsylvania centralized its executions at Rockview.
Curtis Sipple, alias Robert Hicks, was the first county resident to be executed at Rockview in 1919. He had killed two bunkmates with a metal bar as part of robbery plan in the railroad town of Cly in northeastern York County.

i feel this is a very historical part of york county please do not get rid of this building
